NFC - Google Wallet Launches in SF - Pilot

What is NFC (Near Field Communications)?

NFC is a mechanism designed to promote, share, pair and transact between NFC-compatible devices. It is widely expected to revolutionize the payment processing industry. Gone will be days of customers carrying plastic credit cards or membership cards. NFC pilots are expected to begin in the latter half of 2011 for payment transactions (PayPal, Google), ticketing (various airlines), car rentals, POS (advertising, videos, etc.), coupons, tours, etc. etc.

Google Wallet Launches

Reports are emerging from various sources that Google Wallet pilots are about to begin at Pete's Coffee in San Francisco. Terminals have already arrived at certain locations, but instructions on activating these are pending.
