The Perils of Mobile | "Booty Call"

Today, we want to bring you some quirky and (not so) funny news from Virgin Mobile in Canada.

The Winnipeg Free Press has a report that some Virgin Mobile phones sold in Winnipeg, Canada came pre-installed with suggestive messages like “Booty Call” and “Where u at.” The result? Darren P. is now single and heartbroken after his girlfriend found these messages on his phone and promptly dumped him!

It is somewhat ironic that this quirky (and sad) incident happened so close to Valentine’s day. We can only hope that his girlfriend has the heart to patch things up with Darren. With a bit of luck, this news will reach Sir Richard Branson who will graciously throw in an all-expense-paid first-class trip to some romantic destination (e.g. Venice) for the newly united couple.

Note: For those of you who don’t know, Sir Richard Bronson founded the Virgin empire which includes Virgin Atlantic Airways as well as Virgin Mobile. In case you care, he was knighted in 2000 and his net worth is estimated at somewhere around $3 billion.
